Effect of histamine on cAMP generation in transfected Hepa cells

Although histamine had no effect on nontransfected Hepa cells (data not shown), it stimulated cAMP formation in cells transfected with the Ala186-Ser187 mutant H2-histamine receptor (ED50 = 3 × 10−8 M) in a fashion that could be inhibited by cimetidine (10−5 M) and propranolol (10−5 M). Data are represented as means ± SEM, n = 4.
