Quantitative analysis of ADAM10 in control and AD platelets. (A) Representative double immunostaining of homogenate platelet proteins from two control subjects and two AD patients with antibodies raised against ADAM10 and β-actin. (B) Immunoreactive bands from platelet homogenates of control subjects (n = 26) and AD patients (n = 33) were measured by computer-assisted imaging. The ratio between ADAM10 and β-actin optical density (OD) was measured and relative scattergramme is reported. A significant reduction of ADAM10/β-actin immunoreactivity is observed in AD patients (p < 0.0001).
